Terveystalo Ella guides occupational health professionals to operate within the framework of the client agreement
Terveystalo’s new patient information system, Terveystalo Ella, brings together all patient data relevant to a patient’s care, as well as occupational health contract information, making it available to healthcare professionals in a completely new way that supports reception work.
Terveystalo Ella was released for use by all Terveystalo general practitioners and occupational health physicians in early 2026. Currently, the new patient information system is also being tested by some of Terveystalo’s occupational health nurses, and its rollout will be expanded to all occupational health nurses during the fall.
− With Terveystalo Ella, it is easy for our occupational health professionals to do their jobs correctly. It provides professionals with clear visibility into the content and scope of the agreement in a way that previous patient information systems have not been able to, says Jaana Laine, who is responsible for the development of Terveystalo Ella.
The modern system also helps Terveystalo professionals determine follow-up care in accordance with the agreement.
− In Terveystalo Ella, for example, follow-up examinations cannot be ordered in violation of the client agreement. Our healthcare professionals recommend medically justified examinations to the client and inform them if any of the examinations are not covered by the occupational health agreement. In such cases, we discuss other options with the client, Laine continues.
Terveystalo Ella also supports the more effective use of substitute and light-duty work
With Terveystalo Ella, we support the use of substitute and light-duty work by making it a natural part of a doctor’s work.
− If the client’s employer uses a model for substitute or light-duty work, our healthcare professionals will see this as the default option on the sick leave certificate when treating the client. Instructions, key information, and practices supporting alternative and light-duty work are also added to the sick leave certificate.
The billing support Terveystalo Ella offers to professionals reduces human error
Terveystalo Ella also supports our occupational health care professionals with billing.
− When our professionals are creating an invoice, Ella suggests the correct billing code appropriate for the visit. The suggested billing code takes into account, for example, whether the visit was a remote or in-person appointment and the duration of the appointment.
