Investments in technological development support Terveystalo's effective occupational health activities

Technological development and digitalization are fundamentally changing work: routine tasks are being automated, knowledge-based decision-making is accelerating, and people's roles are increasingly focused on creativity, problem-solving, and developing the customer experience. At Terveystalo, technology is seen as a strategic enabler that can be used to support the smooth running of corporate customers' everyday operations and create a foundation for even more effective occupational health services. Our vision for the future is to be a pioneer in the digitalization and effectiveness of occupational health services.

According to Atso Takala, who is responsible for the development of digital tools for Terveystalo's corporate customers, the key drivers of development are streamlining occupational health cooperation, prevention, and agile response to the rapidly changing needs of working life. In the future, digital tools will provide even stronger support for the achievement of occupational health goals and offer better and more comprehensive visibility, analytics, and predictability.

"Our tools for corporate decision-makers are already an integral part of our partnership. In order to support work ability and organizations more intelligently and effectively in the future based on extensive data, we will invest in digital solutions that support occupational health partnerships and create value for corporate decision-makers in the coming years. We are accelerating development with, for example, MedHelp's data- and AI-driven platform, which represents a completely new approach. With the help of artificial intelligence, we will be able to identify individual and organizational risks more accurately and increase our understanding of the effects of different measures and choices, which will make knowledge management and decision-making smoother for our corporate customers, Takala explains.

High-quality, up-to-date information is the foundation of effective occupational health. As data quality improves, effectiveness can be studied and reported with greater accuracy.

“At Terveystalo, we are developing a completely new patient information system called Ella, which will streamline the work of professionals and thus improve the clarity of customer organizations’ agreements and clarify the interpretation of agreement content. In addition, during the coming autumn, the occupational health cooperation platform Suunta will see significant usability improvements, particularly in relation to reporting, says Takala.

The aim of the development investments is also to increase the transparency of invoicing and the clarity of the services used.

"Our goal is to provide our corporate customers with the most modern and value-adding digital tools on the market, which will facilitate day-to-day management and enhance occupational health services now and in the future. As part of impact verification and monitoring, corporate customers must also understand what the organization's occupational health services invoice consists of. We are now accelerating our development work on invoicing and will publish a new occupational health invoice with clearer and more understandable information, as well as a revised set of appendices, in early 2026, Takala says.
