How do the chats work?

You can find all of our chats in the Terveystalo app or by logging in to our website. You can check the chat description before joining the queue. Providing information in advance will speed up the process.

Select a chat and write a message. The next available doctor will pick you up from the queue in a moment.

You can ask questions about your health and send a photo, if necessary. The physician or nurse can assess your need for care and the urgency of treatment, refer you to tests and prescribe medication.

All of our Doctor and Nurse Chats are handled by a professional.

Please note that we do not prescribe sleep medication, antipsychotic medication, strong painkillers or antibiotics for respiratory tract infections or renew their prescriptions via a chat appointment.

What do you need?

A smartphone, tablet or computer. The chats in the Terveystalo app can be used by phone or tablet. If you log in to our website, you can use the chats by computer as well.

Tip:

Before starting the chat, please take pictures of your Kela card and add them to our service. This helps us automatically reduce your potential Kela reimbursement from the price of the chat. How to add photos: After logging in to the app or our website, select your name in the top right-hand corner and select “Omat tiedot” (‘My Information’). Go to “Kela-kortti” (‘Kela card’) and follow the instructions.

  • Video appointments are convenient for resolving issues that do not require a physical examination. For example:

    • Symptoms of urinary tract infection in a woman aged 18-65 years
    • Allergy symptoms

    • Mild and acute musculoskeletal disorders
    • Interpretation of laboratory test results

How do video appointments work?

You can book a video appointment with your preferred expert in the Terveystalo app, on our website or by calling our customer service.

After booking your video appointment, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail and text message with instructions and the link to your video appointment.

The video appointments can be used in the Terveystalo app or by logging in to our website.

What do you need?

You need a working internet connection and a device with a camera, speaker and microphone. Test your webcam, microphone and internet connection before your video appointment. You can use a smartphone or a tablet for attending a video appointment in the Terveystalo app. If you log in to our website, you can also use a computer for video appointments. Use headphones if you like.

Quick and easy telephone appointments, anywhere

  • If you cannot use a video connection, you can also book a telephone appointment. All you need is a phone.
  • Book an appointment with the top expert of your choice. Many of our experts around Finland offer telephone appointments.

How do telephone appointments work?

You can book a telephone appointment with your preferred expert in the Terveystalo app, on our website or by calling our customer service. Our expert will call you at the time you have booked.

What do you need?

All you need is a phone. Keep your phone's alert tones on before your appointment and make sure you don't have any blocking on unknown numbers. Some experts may call from an unlisted number, in which case the number will not be shown to the recipient when calling.
