Finland's leading healthcare service company in six years

Suomen Terveystalo Group’s history stretches far into Finnish clinic history. The oldest subsidiaries that are part of the Group have been established in the 1940s.

The company was established in 2001 when Medipa Oy clinics in Alajärvi, Kauhava and Härmä and Vaajakosken Lääkäriasema Oy merged with Suomen Terveystalo Group.

The basis for the operations is the customer

The aim of Terveystalo’s founders and developers has been to build a company that produces healthcare services and that operates and produces the service to the benefit of its customers.

The service selection is the most versatile in the industry. Service availability is ensured by a national office network in which at least one clinic hospital operates in each of the nine regions.

Terveystalo has quickly become a forerunner and the clear number one in Finland in diagnostics operations.

Growth through acquisitions

Throughout its history Suomen Terveystalo has grown profitably through acquisitions.

During 2002-2007, more than 100 company and business operations deals were carried out. The biggest deal was the acquisition of Medivire Työterveyspalvelut Oy in June 2007.

The acquisitions have covered clinics, laboratory operations and imaging and hospital units. Simultaneously, the operations of existing units have been developed by expanding operations and modernizing premises and equipment. Currently, Suomen Terveystalo consists of 150 offices covering the entire country.

Public company in 2007

Suomen Terveystalo Oyj was listed on the OMX Nordic Stock Exchange in Helsinki in the spring of 2007. The assets accumulated in the offering will be used to fund replacement and new investments in our service network and to develop our operations further.

When the shares are listed they can be more flexibly used, e.g. as payment in acquisitions which will help to implement our growth strategy.

In 2007, Terveystalo became Finland’s leading producer of healthcare services measured by turnover and number of offices.
